Trader Joe’s is one of my favorite places to shop and most of my meals consist mainly of their products. Using some of their most popular, seasonal, and personal favorite products, I have constructed a Trader Joe’s menu for the perfect summer day!
Breakfast: Tropical Yogurt Bowl
Guava Passion Fruit Greek Whole Milk Yogurt ($0.99/each)
Passion Fruit Granola ($3.99/12 Oz)
Fruit topping
Banana ($0.23/each)
Fresh Cut Pineapple Chunks ($3.99/16 Oz)
Mango ($1.69/each)
Multi-floral & Clover Honey ($3.99/12 Oz)
On the side: Orange Peach Mango Juice ($2.99/52 Fl Oz)
My favorite way to start off any day is with a delicious yogurt bowl, topped with a variety of delicious fruits and granola! This summer inspired bowl is super easy to make and only requires you to cut up a few fruits. Just throw all your fruit, yogurt, and granola in a bowl and finish it off with a light drizzle of honey for a sweet, yet healthy breakfast. And on the side you can pour yourself a nice glass of their orange peach mango juice; a longtime favorite of mine!
For breakfast on the run I recommend:
Mango Blueberry Chia Bowl ($3.49/7 Oz)
Spinach & Feta Egg White Burrito ($4.49/7.1 Oz)
Strawberry Overnight Oats ($1.99/5.5 Oz)
Lunch: Spicy Salmon Bagel Sandwich
Plain Bagel ($2.99/8 Oz)
Whipped Cream Cheese ($2.29/8 Oz)
Crunchy Chili Onion ($4.49/8 Oz)
Cruciferous Crunch Collection ($2.49/10 Oz)
Pastrami Style Smoked Atlantic Salmon ($5.99/4 Oz)
On the side: Carolina Gold Style BBQ Chips Ridge Cut Potato Chips ($2.69/7 Oz)
One of Trader Joe’s most beloved products is their Crunchy Chili Onion, which can be used in a ton of innovative and delicious ways. While this bagel is really like any other sandwich, it has a tasty hint of spice from the chili oil. In a bowl, thoroughly mix your desired amount of cream cheese with a spoonful of chili oil. Left with a creamy and spicy mixture, evenly spread it on a toasted plain bagel and add some smoked salmon and greens for a nice crunch. When paired with a serving of your favorite chips, you’ll have a delicious lunch to tide you over until dinner.
For a fast hand-held lunch, I recommend:
Sesame Miso Salad with Salmon ($6.99/10.25 Oz)
Spring Rolls with Tofu ($5.49/7 Oz)
Grilled Pesto Chicken Wrap with Pesto Vinaigrette ($4.99/9.5 Oz)
Snack: Cookie Butter Fruit Dip
Speculoos Cookie Butter ($3.99/14.1 Oz)
Nonfat Plain Greek Yogurt ($0.99/5.3 Oz)
Organic Vermont Maple Syrup ($4.99/8 Fl Oz)
Honeycrisp Apples ($1.29/1 Each)
This idea is a twist on the classic yogurt and peanut butter fruit dip, but instead it uses cookie butter! Using a generous spoonful of Trader Joe’s cookie butter, combine it with a container of their nonfat plain greek yogurt. Afterwards, add some maple syrup to your liking, as it’ll help even out the sourness of the yogurt. And then you’re done! This snack is super simple to make and makes consuming cookie butter just a little bit healthier. Chop up a honeycrisp apple to dip into the spread or you can even use graham crackers, pretzels, or any biscuit for the matter!
If you want a sweet snack on the go, I recommend:
Rainbow’s End Trail Mix Bars ($0.99/1.41 Oz)
PB & J Snack Duo ($3.99/12.7 Oz)
A Handful of Tiny Dark Chocolate Covered Pretzels ($0.99/2.5 Oz)
Dinner: Hot and Sweet Pepperoni Pizza
Pizza Crust ($3.49/15 Oz)
Calabrian Chili Spicy Pasta Sauce ($4.99/18.34 Oz)
Sliced Uncured Pepperoni ($3.99/5 Oz)
Fresh Mozzarella Cheese Log ($5.99/16 Oz)
Spicy Honey Sauce ($2.69/8 Oz)
On the side: Sweet Potato Fries ($2.49/15 Oz)
While frozen pizza is a delicious and easy way to satisfy your cravings, nothing can truly beat a fresh pizza on a Summer day! To spice up the classic pepperoni pie, turn into a hot honey dish. With their pre-made pizza crust, spread generous spoonfuls of their Calabrian chili pasta sauce and lay slices of fresh mozzarella over it. Once topped with pepperoni, throw it in the oven for a couple of minutes and drizzle some spicy honey over it. Spicy and sweet, it’s the best of both worlds combined into a universal favorite. For an appetizer, air fry some sweet potato fries to add onto the sweetness of the dish.
For a quick pizza or something similar, I recommend:
Roasted Garlic & Pesto Pizza with Deep Fried Crust ($5.99/14.1 Oz)
Focaccia Bread with Roasted Tomato and Parmesan ($4.99/14 Oz)
Mushroom & Black Truffle Flatbread ($5.49/9 Oz)
Dessert: Horchata “Affogato”
Horchata Ice Cream ($3.79/1 Pint)
Ready To Drink Cold Brew Coffee ($5.49/32 Fl Oz)
Cinnamon Graham Crackers ($4.49/16 Oz)
Of course, we have to end off the day with a sweet treat! Sort of like an Italian affogato or even a float, this dessert is the perfect way to finish a great day of eats. Pour a glass of cold brew coffee and drop in a large scoop of horchata ice cream. For a stronger cinnamon flavor, crush some graham crackers and delicately sprinkle them over your creation, or even just dip them in whole. It’ll be difficult to put this dessert down and you may find yourself awake late in the night from a caffeine overload!
For an easy frozen treat, I recommend:
S’Mores Bars ($4.99/7.5 Oz)
Ube Mochi ($4.99/6.8 Oz)
Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert Chocolate Fudge Oat Bars ($3.49/8.25 Fl Oz)
